Instagram Graph API Automation Guide

The Instagram Node is your ultimate tool for scaling visual marketing and audience engagement. Built on the official Meta Graph API, it empowers creators and brands to automate their content pipeline with enterprise-grade stability.

1. Connection & Authentication Setup

To use this node, your Instagram account must be a Professional Account (Business or Creator) and linked to a Facebook Fanpage. You can authenticate via two methods:

  • Instagram OAuth 2.0: Simply log in with your Facebook account. The nLink engine will magically exchange your user permissions for a secure Page Access Token. Provide your Facebook Page ID so the system knows which page to route through.
  • Direct Page Access Token: Paste a long-lived Page Token generated directly from your Meta Developer App.

2. Choosing the Right Resource

Select the Resource that matches your marketing objective:

  • Photo: Publish standard square, landscape, or portrait images to your Instagram grid. Provide a direct File URL and an engaging Caption.
  • Video & Reel: Meta now processes all video uploads as Reels. Provide your high-resolution video URL. The node's Smart Polling System will automatically wait up to 5 minutes for Meta's servers to transcode your media before pushing it live.
  • Comment: Build automated engagement loops. Supply a Target Comment ID to instantly Reply to customer inquiries, or Delete spam from your feed.

3. Important Automation Constraints

When orchestrating Instagram workflows, keep these official API constraints in mind:

  • You can publish a maximum of 50 media containers per 24-hour period per Instagram account.
  • Video files must be hosted on a public URL and cannot exceed 15 minutes or 1GB.
  • We recommend using a Wait Node if you are automating bulk replies to avoid triggering Meta's strict rate limits (429 Too Many Requests). However, our node is equipped with a Smart Retry Algorithm to automatically recover from temporary API throttling.
